Tropical Red Flower is a vibrant new watercolor painting. Sunlight illuminates the leaves and thick waxy body of the heliconia. I love this flower and it’s lovely in gardens in the tropics.

Since graduating from college with a fine art degree, I’ve sold hundreds of oil and watercolor paintings through fine art festivals in California, through my studio and website and through art galleries nationally. I love to paint! The bittersweet reality is that I am also phenomenally successful with my reverse painted glass chandeliers which I paint and fabricate here in my studio in the greater SF Bay Area and between that and my young son and family life, I have little time to devote to my original love—watercolor. I only produce a handful of paintings in the traditional sense every year now.
