24″ Reverse Hand Painted Glass Chandelier by artist Jenny Floravita—is installation ready.
Tangerine is an abstract, 24″ reverse hand painted glass chandelier that was a commission for a collector back East. This painted chandelier turned out wonderful! My client had requested a chandelier with tangerine and yellow colors. She was attracted to a specific piece that I had sold last year so we took some elements from that piece as a basis. My reverse hand painted chandelier are complex in their design and painting and abstracts are especially so—it’s hard to convey just how a piece will turn out in advance of painting it as these are not patterns, all of my abstract chandelier are originals painted by me, not studio people.
Secondary colors were decided along with the primary tangerine and yellow colors for this reverse hand painted chandelier. Tangerine and yellow are similar in value and hue so in order to have vibrancy you need contrast and that is achieved with other colors. We decided that no blue would be used. Green, purple and magenta along with small areas of red composed the rest of my color palate. Wherever I could paint in the colors tangerine and yellow, that is what I did. That is how my collector and I designed and painted this gorgeous chandelier. It is now safely hanging in her new home.
Normally I tend to add more colors to my reverse hand painted chandeliers so this was a new palate for me and I really liked how it turned out! It’s a very vibrant and up-beat chandelier. Very joyous!!! It will add sunny Florida warmth in the room during the colder winter months.
The fixture design that you see here is my Standard fixture and it is hand forged. My reverse hand painted chandeliers are hand crafted here in my studio in the San Francisco Bay Area.
