24″ Reverse Hand Painted Glass Chandelier by artist Jenny Floravita—is installation ready.
This is one of three tropical parrot themed, 24″ reverse hand painted glass chandeliers that were painted for one of my clients. I’m featuring this piece because it might be my favorite of the three—and I don’t know which piece would be my client’s favorite yet. Inspiration was taken from a Macaw themed chandelier that I created over a year ago…but this piece is quite different. In addition to painting all of the floral elements freely I was able to add another set of adorable red parrots on the opposite side of the chandelier.
The red parrots and the gorgeous section with the single peacock feather and the pink gingers and torch ginger are my favorite sides. I took a ton of pictures and am showing a lot of them here to you because I liked this piece so much—it was one of those chandeliers that was hard to let go of. Professional artists don’t talk much about the release process of their work but it can indeed be tough to let go of a work of art as we invest all that we have in the time that we’re creating our fine art works. My goal is to always paint genuinely with all of my reverse hand painted glass chandeliers. Same with my oil and watercolor paintings—they take time and thought. It’s never a good idea to rush an artist. I work with a lot of deadlines (that I meet successfully) but when an artist says that they need a specific amount of time to complete a work of art, it’s wise to give that to them.
There were three chandeliers that needed to be painted in this group and though this winter was busy, I was able to meet my deadlines. I am lucky that most of my clients give me the proper time needed to balance all of the work that I must do in order to make their commissions special.
This reverse hand painted glass chandelier is photographed in my Ornate fixture but I’d like to mention that my client choose the Standard forged fixtures for her trio of painted chandeliers. Both fixture styles adorn this piece and the complimentary tropical parrot chandeliers well.
