24″ Reverse Hand Painted Chandelier by artist Jenny Floravita—is installation ready.
Desert Garden Swirl in Violet Blue and Maroon is an exquisite 24″ reverse hand painted chandelier inspired by an evening desert garden in Santa Fe. It is lavishly painted and is from my Painted Desert Garden Series. I have also painted a piece that features many of the same flowers, in the same color scheme but instead of the Sedona vortex swirl design element, the entire glass bowl is an elaborately painted floral chandelier.
The original idea for the vortex swirl color scheme came from a commissioned painted chandelier from last fall. My client had requested these lovely blue and violet colors along with greens and maroons. She had also requested native flowers and birds from her home state. At some point I will post pictures of that piece as well. I liked how that painted glass chandelier turned out so well that I decided to paint a piece with the same vortex swirl colors only with desert flowers for my gallery in Sedona, Arizona—Kuivato Glass Gallery.
Specifically, I took my flower inspiration from a Santa Fe flower garden. I enjoy painting freely so all of my reverse hand painted chandeliers are originals—not patterns. Desert Garden Swirl in Violet Blue and Maroon is shown here in my Ornate fixture with hangs 29″ plus chain length. If you have a lower ceiling, you can still hang this hand forged fixture style over your dining table. My other two forged fixture styles, the Standard and Contemporary Swirl are shorter and also would look lovely with Desert Garden Swirl in Violet Blue and Maroon. I combine a lot of ‘swirl’ elements in my pieces. They are inspired by Sedona’s vortex phenomenon and are also very fun and flowing design elements to paint—and I believe that many artists use these symbols for that reason in their work for this reason.
This is a very beautiful reverse hand painted chandelier and it has very subdued colors from the desert. It’s a gorgeous piece in person!
