Per constant request from my collectors, this summer I created three beautiful sea life night light designs. I love each of these designs for different reasons.
The Humuhumunukunukuapuaa night light is my most unusual sea life design. Side story…we call this fish ‘Breakfast Fish’ because I have a beautiful little ceramic cream and sugar set and the cream pourer is a Humuhumunukunukuapuaa…and that’s what I used to get our son to eat cereal cheerfully in the morning. When he’s older, he’ll be able to identify this beautiful fish in the reefs in Hawaii. She has created special memories for our family and she holds a permanently special place in my heart.
The next design is Honu (sea turtle) Night Light. This pieces is a very dynamic design where the Honu is swimming towards you, similar to how I often paint this turtle in my sea life chandeliers.
The second piece, Blue Sea Turtle Night light, creates a more serene scene and would be beautiful, bathroom for a bedroom or hallway.
These designs take considerably longer to paint. I’ve found that painting birds and fish need a certain amount of time. If I’m in a space where I need to paint freely and if I need to paint a lot of pieces and create a lot of color options for collectors, I’ll probably always choose flower designs. So I need special time to paint sea turtles. Night lights in general have traditionally been something that I can offer reliably in certain seasons. If I’m in a season where I’m painting a lot of custom chandeliers, I might run low on night lights.
Each design is painted in small sets of 2-4 of each design. If you see a specific piece in stock and think you’ll need a night light as a gift in the near future, it’s good to order versus wait. Otherwise, I’m happy to paint designs on backorder. Timeframe could realistically be 2.5 weeks before a piece is ready to ship.
I think that makes sense.
A bit more about Night Lights
Beautifully crafted each night light is a reversed painted work of art on glass. A lovely soft glow will illuminate the room from this functional and affordable work of art. Makes a wonderful unique gift for moms. Lovely in guest rooms and bedrooms. Each of these beauties has it’s own expression and subtle color hues but all light up beautifully.
