Hand Painted Night Lights Make A Beautiful Unique Mother’s Day Gift

Let me introduce myself, I am an artist and I create a line of stunning reverse painted glass chandeliers. Along the way, a good friend and mentor of mine suggested that I offer hand painted glass night lights as a sample of my beautiful art form. To tell you a bit more about myself, I am also a daughter and a mother. My mother helps in the production of my night lights. Through the years she has been a driving force behind the creation of my night lights. When I exhibited in art festivals through California we would create my hand painted night lights together—they served as a small affordable sample for my larger, more expensive reverse painted glass chandeliers.

She often was the person who would also sell my night lights while I would talk with clients about chandeliers. We think of new design ideas together.

How Are Night Lights Made?

Each night light is hand cut in my studio. Turned out that my mother had a unique gift for cutting glass…she loves to help me and we get a little bit of time to spend together in my shop. She cuts all of the glass forms that create the shape for my night lights.

After a little bit of refinement (cold-working), which is done by me as my eyes are better…the glass shapes go into my kiln. They are then slumped and fire-polished. Each night light then has one more round of cold working. This process prepares the glass shape.

From here, the glass is then painted in reverse by me, artist Jenny Floravita. Each piece is signed.

We discovered through art festivals that people would come back year after year for my beautiful hand painted glass night lights.
