I am inspired by color, light and that *special feeling*, you know, the type of amazing feeling that can drift into the day unannounced during a quiet moment—that uplifting feeling that arises from your chest—and reminds you of that one place on the planet that calls to your soul.

In those special moments, it’s like you can almost catch the scent of plumeria…or gardenia, jasmine or even rose in the breeze that is in your mind. Maybe you hear the hearty rustle of leaves that only palm fronds make in the wind. Maybe you hear the soothing sounds of waves as they wash up on the beach for eternity—this is the essence that drives me to create beautiful works of art that have movement and rich color.

I was born to be an artist. I was born to bring beauty into the world.

It’s difficult to explain but I must create and paint to be whole. The ability to create art iis the great gift that I was given. And I have a passion for beautiful flowers and plants. I love Hawaii and island culture. I love beaches of all kinds, from sugary white to black lava that’s been crushed by the ocean on the shore. I love California. I love it when my family can experience these passions as we travel through live together.

When you are an artist, life is about finding the things that light your soul on fire. When you fall in love with a place, you want to share it and allow other people to experience it. That’s what I do as an artist with my work.

I love to bring people to a place in my paintings that they may (or may not) have been before. It’s about allowing others to be immersed in the experience through the beautiful color and light that I play with.

This Inspiration that I feel is about a beautiful warm ocean beach, where the waves lap up on black lava rock that’s been eroded over centuries. I would love to capture that essence in a beautiful painting for your wall…or a garden filled with expressive and richly colored flowers that dance in a hand crafted glass bowl that becomes a beautiful chandelier for your dining room.
