Kauai’i Ranch Living is a new 12 inch by 6 inch original oil painting on gallery wrapped canvas that is 1.5 inches wide. It’s a lovely memory for anyone who’s explored the back roads of Kauai’i. This scene can be found on the East Side, heading North. Most of my Hawaiian Island oil paintings in 2016 are of scenes in Kauai or Hawaii. When most people think of Hawaiian art, they think of ideal fantasy beach scenes with crashing waves and an abundance of tropical flowers…but I like to paint more of what I really see in my small island vignette oils and they often serve as inspiration for my larger island paintings.
The Hawaiian islands have a rich history of ranching and farming. I love this part of Kauai’i and I love the red dirt that is so iconic for this particular island. And thought I am a beach person, I love the back roads and I love seeing the scenes that are surprisingly tropical yet agricultural at the same time. Sometimes I feel as if I’m looking at scenes that could be anywhere in America…except for the large royal palms or coconut palms that are often in the landscape.
Kauai’i Ranch Living is in my online SHOP here, and I’m listing it for 150 USD—free shipping within the US. My Hawaiian style oil paintings are collected internationally. I travel and paint extensively through Hawaii. These majestic islands serve as muse for most of my paintings.
