Black lava rock on Hawaii is very dynamic—I just love the formations that have been created as new land hardens from molten lava.

The Pacific Ocean washes up against the shore as coconut palms lean outwards towards the sea. The scent of salty warm air makes me feel very happy when I’m there.
My original oil paintings have texture and that makes them very interesting. This scene was painted loosely with freedom of brush. I added red flowers as accents. Fluffy clouds roll in towards the island on this balmy summer day making me feel very grateful and full of joy.
