This lush island home can barely be seen through the tropical foliage of palm fronds and tropical ginger flowers. It's an island home in the Waimea Plantation Cottages on the West side of Kauai.

Heading Out of Poipu, Kauai
6″x6″ oil on gallery wrapped canvas, SOLD. A couple years ago I created a larger, longer version of this scene and I really loved the piece. It sold right away at the first art festival that it was shown at and I really should paint another similar piece. The location for this painting is Poipu, Kauai. It features that beautiful red dirt that is so well known to Kauai.

When I am in the Hawaiian Islands I enjoy the big grassy expanses at the resorts just as much as I enjoy the beach. The two elements represent 'the good life' and they remind us that we're there to relax, if only for a few precious days!
Mid Morning Beach, Kauai Painting
6″x6″ oil on gallery wrapped canvas, SOLD. This lovely painting has a lot of nice texture in the sky, rocks, water and flowers. It's a very, very lovely piece in person. It has an expansive feeling despite the fact that it is such a small painting. Mid-morning is a lovely time of day on the East side of Kauai, which is the inspiration for this small gem.

Sunset also brings the possibilities of a new day...just a few hours away. For artists, I think I can speak for most of us and say that our inspiration is always leading our life's work. With each new day brings the possibilities of creating new works of art. Each evening renews that purpose as the next day may bear fruit to your best work yet.
